The mica material from the mica tape manufacturer is an important insulating material for high voltage motor windings, mainly used for the insulation wrapping of high voltage motor coils. The rated currents vary, and there are differences in the layers of mica material used for coil wrapping.

The mica material from the mica tape manufacturer has advantages such as insulation, heat resistance, and stable physical quality. It has good fire resistance, toughness, and ductility, and is widely used in the decoration industry, fire protection industry, as well as in industrial products like welding rods, plastics, electrical insulation, paper making, asphalt paper, plastics, and pearlescent pigments. The insulation of high voltage motor windings is one of the practical applications of mica materials.

Mica materials for high voltage motor windings are generally in strip form and are used for insulation solutions for high voltage motor coils. This insulation solution is applied after the coil is formed and glued. For coils of motors with higher rated currents, the number of layers of wrapped mica material will be relatively more.

Depending on the differences in processing technology among various manufacturing enterprises, the wrapping of mica materials generally adopts manual, semi-manual semi-mechanical, and automatic wrapping methods. Relatively speaking, in manual wrapping processes, it is possible to detect some potential issues with the coil or insulating materials early on. However, controlling the tightness and consistency of compression during wrapping can be challenging due to many human factors. When using semi-automatic and fully automatic assembly lines for wrapping coils, the efficiency is relatively high and the consistency of compression of the wrapping tape is also better. Therefore, automated wrapping equipment is gradually entering high voltage motor manufacturing enterprises. However, regardless of the wrapping method used, the ends of the coils must be wrapped manually. Due to the unique shape at the ends, this presents a significant challenge; however, it is precisely at the ends where the magnetic field strength of high voltage motors is very uneven, making it easy to generate corona discharge points, which is critical in winding production.

The insulating properties and softness of mica materials from mica tape manufacturers ensure good contact with the core when coils are placed into it while maintaining good insulation properties. To ensure better insulation characteristics of the windings and effectively avoid electrical corrosion during motor operation, efforts should be made to minimize the probability of gaps during coil wrapping and ensure proper arrangement between layers of mica material during wrapping. In the immersion drying process of motor windings, especially when using vacuum pressure equipment technology, it can compensate for deficiencies in the insulation wrapping process.

To enhance the insulating properties of motor insulation and avoid issues related to corona discharge during high voltage motor operation, after wrapping with mica material, a resistance tape is wrapped around it. The parallel edge part of the coil uses low insertion loss wrapping while the top end uses high insertion loss. During wrapping, it is essential to control the interface positions between high insertion loss and low resistance tape timely to prevent gaps in wrapping. The external resistance tape wrapped around the coil can effectively alleviate contact between the coil and core, reducing gaps between them and providing a certain buffering effect for its mica insulation material. In manufacturing processes where there are larger gaps between coils and cores, necessary measures should also be taken to add insulation.
